Ukraine to revoke Tvoya Bettingovaya Kompaniya’s license

Ukraine revoked the license of “Tvoya Bettingovaya Kompaniya” LLC, which owns the rights to use the 1xBET brand in the country, said Olena Vodolazhko, a temporary head of the Ukrainian Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (CRGL).

In her recent interview with the Ukrainian media agency “Ukrinform”, she said that the CRGL initiated the verification of the authenticity of the documents of the LLC and after confirmation, a decision was immediately made to revoke the license.

In addition to that, the regulator initiated the sanctioning process of the Russian entities in the betting and lottery sectors. Our Commission submitted a draft order “On the introduction of proposals for the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)” to the Cabinet of Ministers, which was adopted on September 7.

38 organizations were included in the list: 26 betting companies, 3 operators of Russian state lotteries, 8 operators of land-based casinos and gaming machine halls, and one financial company responsible for acquiring.

It is important to note that this list includes “Bookmaker Pub” LLC, which operates under the “1xCTABKA” brand, and which has publicly announced its financial support for the Russian military, which carries out terrorist acts in Ukraine.

“Such actions of the Commission will allow blocking access to the websites of gambling operators linked to the aggressor country; will make the further transfer of personal data of Ukrainians participating in gambling on Russian sites impossible; stop receiving funds from Ukraine to the budget of the aggressor state; exclude our country from the chain of actions aimed at laundering of the proceeds of crime through Russian gambling companies and apply sanctions at the international level through our international partners. Now we are waiting for the relevant decision of the National Security Council,” Vodolazhko added.

A similar statement was made by Anton Kuchukhidze, the Chairman of the Ukrainian Gambling Council (UGC): “From the first days of Russia’s war against Ukraine, CRGL demonstrated its clear position of supporting the State in the fight against the invaders and used its powers to preserve the legal gambling market. By advocating sanctions pressure on the aggressor state and, in particular, on Russian gambling brands, CRGL consistently contributes to the isolation of Russian gambling companies.”
