Visa Partners with Crypto.com to Launch NFT World Cup Auction

Ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Visa has teamed up with Crypto.com to support fan engagement and host a “first-of-its-kind” NFT auction.

Dubbed “Visa Masters of Movement”, Visa is creating “immersive fan activation” by offering digital representations of some of the most iconic NFT-created tournament goals on Crypto.com.

Selected fans will also be able to create digital art with their movements on an interactive pitch at the FIFA Fan Fest Park in Doha, Qatar.

Visa Crypto.com’s NFT auction featured artwork depicting World Cup goals scored by Jared Borgetti, Tim Cahill, Carly Lloyd, Michael Owen and Maxi Rodriguez, as well as XK Studios digital art tracking player movements.

Fans who bid the highest on each of the 5 NFTs at the end of the auction will receive a digital collectible in their Crypto.com wallet.

Visa will donate all proceeds from the auction to Street Children United, a British charity dedicated to combating the stigma faced by street children around the world.

Visa’s announcement came after reports confirmed that the network had filed for trademarks related to NFTs and the metaverse.

Steven Kalifowitz, Chief Marketing Officer at Crypto.com, commented: «We are thrilled to partner with Visa in bringing Visa Masters of Movement to life and offering fans the opportunity to create and collect the most unique collectibles at the FIFA World Cup that will live forever on the blockchain.»
