Each week, SBC CIS editors look back at the events of the previous week to highlight the most interesting and resonant ones for you.

Armenia raises taxes on gambling and sports betting, EGT makes its content available in Georgia, AiScout’s COO talks about the assistance of the Artificial Intelligence in the business of finding new and prospective football players, FC Inter may put LeoVegas logo on their jerseys, Wazdan has entered iGaming market in Czechia, Amusnet Interactive released their new roulette offering, CT Interactive announced their new partnership with Timeless-Tech’s iGaming platform.

More on these, as usual, in our digest below.

The Armenian Parliament adopted in the second and final reading the amendments to the law that regulates taxation. The amendments provide for an increase in taxes on betting companies, sweepstakes and online gambling.

Deputy Finance Minister Arman Poghosyan said the tax increase was necessary as gambling business sales rose from AMD 140 billion in 2017 to AMD 4.2 trillion in the first nine months of this year, which is expected to generate additional revenue in the amount of 10 billion AMD annually from 2024. The amendments will come into force on July 1, 2023.

EGT’s gaming content is already available on the Georgian market. Starting from November, one of the newest sites, asvla.com, has selected 15 of the most successful games from the Bulgarian provider’s portfolio, including progressive jackpots from Versailles Gold, Rise of Ra, Burning Hot, 40 Super Hot, and many games from renowned provider BellLink.

In a recent episode of the Insider Sport podcast, Richard Felton-Thomas, COO and Head of Sports Science at AiSCOUT, tells how his company enables clubs to analyze, score, rate, and coach players anywhere in the world using a mobile phone.

We can help players get better and get their standard up, but actually, if their data is good enough, clubs are going to have access to it and actually say ‘this is a player we didn’t know about that we should be looking at’”, — told Mr. Felton-Thomas on the podcast.

FC Inter is considering betting provider LeoVegas as its main partner in the future.

LeoVegas is eyeing to take the vacant role after learning about FC Inter’s unsuccessful relationship with previous title sponsors, Digital Bits.

There is, however, one limiting factor — the Italian law prohibits advertising of gambling companies on the uniforms of local sports clubs, although this ban may be lifted in the future.

Wazdan has entered the regulated iGaming market in Czechia.

The market in Czechia became the seventh on the list after Bulgaria, Ontario, Michigan, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands, which Wazdan entered in 2022. The company continues to focus on growth in key regulated jurisdictions.

The Czech iGaming market became regulated in 2017 and has been gaining momentum ever since. According to the local regulator, GGR could reach 1 million euros in 2022.

Amusnet Interactive has released their latest live roulette. This game is based on cutting-edge streaming technology and state-of-the-art studios. It offers an unparalleled real-time gaming experience. The use of high quality cameras will ensure high HD resolution, making image transfer one of the fastest in the industry.

Roulette is available 24/7 and includes Amusnet’s signature bonus card and jackpot integration.

The game is quite fast, with each roulette round lasting an average of 42 seconds or over 86 rounds per hour. The Return to Player (RTP) percentage is 97.30%.

CT Interactive announced a deal with Timeless-Tech, one of the fastest growing iGaming platforms. The platform has Curacao licenses, which will allow the provider to enter new markets.

«This is a very strategic deal, through this platform our products will reach new important markets in the gaming world», — told Martin Ivanov, Director Business Development Americas at CT Interactive.
