First Kazakhstan MotoGP Race Gets Cancelled by the Event Organiser

The Grand Prix of Kazakhstan, main motorcycle competition in MotoGP, was cancelled due to the poor conditions of the host circuit.

The decision to cancel was made by MotoGP organisers, Dorna Sports, motorcycling’s international governing body the FIM and the International Road-Racing Teams Association representative body.

MotoGP intends to host the competition again in Kazakhstan in 2024, but this year the race does not fall into the calendar, consisting of 20 stages.

This will result in a six-week break in the MotoGP calendar between the Dutch TT on June 25th and the British Grand Prix on August 6th. In September last year, Kazakhstan signed a five-year contract to host MotoGP races at the Sokol track.
