IBIA Records 40 Cases of Suspicious Betting Activity in Q1 of 2023

In the first quarter of 2023, the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) issued 40 alerts on suspicious betting activity. This is stated in the new report of the organization.

The number of warnings decreased by 16.6% compared to the same period last year and by 20% compared to the previous quarter of this year.

Suspicious betting alerts were issued in 21 countries for 9 different kinds of sport — 24 in Europe, 6 in Asia, 4 in Africa, and two warnings in the North and the South Americas each.

The largest number of warnings was recorded in Spain.

Football topped the list of warnings (15), ahead of tennis (12) and table tennis (4). Basketball, cricket and esports each received two warnings, while volleyball, boxing and snooker each received only one.
