GiG Launches Its New Sports Betting Platform in Latvia

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has launched a betting platform in Latvia with three betting operators as clients in a new step of its development program in Europe.

William Hill, Mr Green and Fenibet, part of the 888 Holdings portfolio, are the first Baltic customers of GiG Sport, a platform developed by GiG following the acquisition of Sportnco in April 2022.

Marcel Elfersy, CCO of GiG said: «This is a very welcome milestone for us on our strategic roadmap, as we start to harvest the enormous potential of our combined sportsbook and platform offering.

«William Hill is one of the most famous brands associated with sports betting worldwide, and so supplying our proprietary technology to tier one providers of their calibre is a great demonstration of the value we are able to offer to the market.»

The three contracts are the second major commercial announcement made by GiG in Q2, following a strong first quarter with sales up 49% to a record high of €28.4m.

GiG expects expansion in Latvia to complement growth in the first quarter, noting that the market is up 92% year-on-year in 2021, according to data from H2 Gambling Capital, which estimates a five-year compound annual growth rate of 10% by 2026.
